The Churches at Cleverns and Sandel

The Lutheran Church in Cleverns was built in 1234 and is still very beautiful. Christoffel Harmenszen indicated that he was from Kleverins, therefore, this would have been his home church.

For a real treat, listen to the church bells at Cleverns. This video was made by Dennis Wubs in 2010. "Clevern Oldenburgerland: Glocken der Evangelisch Lutherische Kirche"

Just one mile down the road from Cleverns is the tiny hamlet known as Sandel. St. Jacobus church is located at the center of the village. The churches in Cleverns and Sandel are connected and share a pastor and congregation.
